Always looking for Photo Ops

I am in between sports seasons for a couple of weeks, so I get to look for some different photo ops. Last night I went to Aquilla Lake for a sunset photo, and also got some cool moon photos. I talked to a couple of boaters there who say they saw a bald eagle around the bend from where I was. Now....to figure out how to get there! I had opportunity last week to try to photograph the eagles at Lake Waco, but the eagles weren't in the area that day. I hope to try again soon.

I was given a GREAT gift this year for Christmas. It was great because I didn't expect it. I was given a wonderful gift from a couple of friends who said "God just told them to bless me". It's always nice to receive gifts from close friends and family, but somehow we grow to "expect" those gifts. When someone out of the blue gives you a gift from the heart, it just overwhelms you. I did nothing to earn the gift. They didn't "owe" me anything. They just saw opportunity to bless, and they did. I am so grateful. When someone does something like that for you, it makes you want to go do something really cool for someone else. At our church, that's what we call "pay it forward". So I just want to encourage everyone to go do something nice for someone today. Do something for someone who doesn't expect it and you will be blessed. Do something for someone who has no way of paying you back...and you will be doublely blessed.

San Miguel de Allende

We just got back from the best vacation ever! If you are looking for a great getaway destination, try looking at San Miguel de Allende, Mexico. It is the most unique place I have ever visited. Hundreds of shops full of local art, pottery and jewelry. The most magnificient cathedrals I've ever seen, and even the local homes are a sight to behold. Colors everywhere! It was a photographers paradise. Pictured here on my blog site is one of the creations I came up with using some of the photos I captured. Soon I will be offering prints and gallery wraps on my website... www.gotpictures.us . Monday I had to return to "the real world". So much work to do now that I'm overwhelmed.

Tolar Jr. High Football

Tom and I traveled to Tolar tonight for the Jr. High football action. I've been photographing these boys since they played in the Youth League. It's been fun to watch them growing up into young men. They are all gentlemen and good sportsmen. They are an honor to their community and I'm proud to be their photographer. Tonight Tom helped me photograph, so I guess you could say Tolar boys had their own Paparatzzi.

Football Season Begins

Youth football season began yesterday. Kristi and I traveled to Tolar, Texas to photograph 3 games. We had a really good time and got some pretty good photos. It will take a couple of weeks to get back into the swing of taking football photographs. After taking thousands upon thousands of baseball photos this year, it takes a little while to get our timing down on football. Photographing the two sports are totally different. I'm looking forward to this Saturday to see what kind of photos I come up with.
